Senate President Godswill Akpabio has led some lawmakers to pay a congratulatory visit to President Bola Tinubu on his victory at the Supreme Court.

Recall that presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), were at the Supreme Court to challenge the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal for claiming that Tinubu won the keenly contested election.

The apex court, however, on Thursday upheld the lower court’s ruling after dismissing all petitions filed by Obi and Atiku respectively.

Following the verdict, Akpabio, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, and some senators visited President Tinubu at the State House in Abuja on Saturday.

Akpabio Urges Lawmakers To Support Tinubu’s Plan For Nigerians

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has charged lawmakers in the Senate to support President Bola Tinubu’s plan for Nigerians.

According to Akpabio, Nigeria has never had such audacious plans since the days of the nation’s founding fathers.

Naija News gathered that Akpabio made this call on Thursday while speaking at the Senate retreat on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms organised by the National Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies.

The event was held at Four Point by Sheraton Hotel in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
