Wike: 'Your Recent Comments Are Baseless, Divisive' - Middle Belt Group Slams Gumi

Controversial Islamic Scholar, Ahmad Gumi, has reacted to the calls for his arrest over his recent comment against Christians.

Naija News recalls that Gumi had earlier this week said it was dangerous to entrust Nigeria’s national security to Christians and Southerners, adding that President Bola Tinubu would be stopped from serving for eight years.

The cleric stated this while condemning the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, for receiving the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria in his office and planning to collaborate with Israel over security issues in Abuja.

Gumi had described the former governor of Rivers State as a “satanic person”.

The Islamic cleric claimed that Muslims would be victimised should the FCT and Israel collaborate.

The comment of the Islamic cleric has seen groups and individuals call for his immediate arrest for allegedly diminishing the image of Nigerian Christians.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo in reaction to Gumi’s comments said he should be arrested, describing the cleric as a “well-known associate of bandits”.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode also called for Gumi’s arrest, adding Christians in Nigeria cannot bow to anybody, and neither will any rational and reasonable Muslims bow to the terroristic rhetoric of Gumi and his cohorts.

Gumi, however, when contacted by Daily Post on the calls for his arrest said, “I should not have reply for idiots in a democracy”.
