The PUNCH: The total spending by the Federal Government on palliatives and loans to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal may hit N3.27tn, findings by The PUNCH have shown. The palliatives and loans were meant to cushion the effects of economic hardships on Nigerians and businesses following the removal of fuel subsidies and skyrocketing consumer prices due to high inflation.


The Guardian: With the economic crisis confronting Nigeria showing no signs of abating anytime soon and the attendant effects becoming more visible daily, many manufacturing firms are beginning to consider major changes in business models, to hedge the lingering foreign exchange challenges and business environment concerns.


Vanguard: At least 21 states of the federation owe retirees N790billion inherited pensions and gratuities. Vanguard checks revealed that while Rivers State tops the list of states with a backlog of unpaid pensions and gratuities to the tune of N119 billion, Benue State comes second with N100 billion.
