Corpse Of Missing Plateau Fulani Leader Found

The corpse of the missing Fulani leader of Panyam District of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Adamu Idris, has been found.

The development was confirmed by the chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria in the state, Nuru Abdullahi.

According to Abdullahi, the Fulani leader would be buried in Bauchi State.

Abdullahi further stated that the corpse was discovered in Dawaki, a community in Kanke, another LGA of the state.

The spokesperson of the state Operation Safe Haven, a security task force maintaining peace in the area, Captain Oya James, confirmed the development.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja had on September 27, directed personnel of OPSH to recover the corpse within 24 hours.

Idris was declared missing on September 24, when he was said to be returning from a visit to the district head of the area, Aminu Darwam.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Alfred Alabo, last week said Commissioner of Police in the state, Okoro J. Alawari directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of the State CID to immediately take over the case and ensure discreet investigation.

He also enjoined them to note that the command has put all modalities in place to ensure that all the mystery surrounding the disappearance of the Ardo shall be unravelled and the perpetrators of this heinous act will be arrested and prosecuted.
