Former Manchester United forward, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has questioned the experience of coach Erik ten Hag as he stressed that the Dutch tactician wasn’t qualified to coach the Red Devils.

Recall that Erik ten Hag became the head coach of Manchester United ahead of last season after taking Ajax to the semi-final stage of the UEFA Champions League in the 2018-2019 season.

But his arrival at Old Trafford has not been so rosy both on and off the pitch even after he qualified for the club for this UEFA Champions League campaign.

Recall that one of the biggest challenges Erik Ten Hag had to face last season was handling of the bombshell interview Cristiano Ronaldo granted Piers Morgan in 2022. Due to the interview in which Ronaldo blasted Ten Hag and ownership of the club, the Dutch coach ensured Ronaldo is kicked out of the club.

After Ronaldo’s exit, Ten Hag continued to have a series of fallouts with some Manchester United superstars including Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and now with Jadon Sancho.

Aside from the off-field issues, Manchester United are currently struggling in the Premier League. They have recorded three wins and four defeats so far this season which has dropped them as low as the 10th spot on the league table which is their worst start in decades.

Hence, many football pundits including Zlatan Ibrahimovic who recently retired from the game, are not confident in the Dutch tactician.

“What is the experience of this coach? Young talents then he comes to United… Man United is different mentality, different players”, Ibrahimovic told Piers Morgan as quoted by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

“You come to United, you do the same thing”.

Erik ten Hag and his boys will be in action in the UEFA Champions League later tonight (8 p.m.) against Galatasaray. The Red Devils would hope to land their first three points in the campaign this season after suffering a 4:3 defeat against Bayern Munich in their opening game.
