Details Of FG's Meeting With Organised Labour Emerge

The Organised Labour Unions are set to meet with Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, over the scheduled protracted industrial action.

According to Channels Television, the Federal Government fixed the meeting in an effort to find common ground and avert the planned nationwide industrial action on Wednesday.

Naija News understands that the meeting was scheduled days after leaders of the organised labour unions shunned a meeting called by the Federal Government.

Recall that the organised labour unions last week had expressed their intention to embark on an indefinite strike on Wednesday, October 3, 2023.

The meeting between the union leaders and the Federal Government will be held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The organised labour unions had made demands from the Federal Government following the removal of the subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit.

Among other things, the NLC and the TUC are asking for wage awards, implementation of palliatives, tax exemptions and allowances to public sector workers and a review of the minimum wage.
