Osinbajo Takes Up Fresh International Assignment

The former vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has been appointed chairman of the board of directors for Climate Action for Africa (CAP-A).

Naija News reports that Osinbajo made this known in a post via his X handle, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

The latest appointment of Osinbajo as the chairman of the board of directors of CAP-A would be the second of its kind since he left office on May 29.

While accepting the role, the immediate past vice president said he is delighted to drive climate action across Africa alongside an incredible team.

He wrote: “Thrilled to announce that I have accepted the offer to lead the Climate Action for Africa (CAP-A) as the new Chair of the Board of Directors! Truly excited to drive climate action across Africa alongside an incredible team.”

Osinbajo’s Former Aide Reacts To Tinubu’s Outing At UNGA

Meanwhile, Laolu Akande, ex-spokesperson of Yemi Osinbajo, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his speech at the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

President Tinubu had highlighted the issues facing Africa, such as foreign exploitation of natural resources, human trafficking, forced migration and climate.

Speaking on Channels Television, Akande said the president has made an attempt to retake the significance of the Nigerian voice in the international community.

Akande asked Tinubu not to rest on his oars and to proceed with formulating a clear foreign policy that backed up his speech at the UNGA.

The former presidential spokesman advised the president to gather together his foreign policy team and formulate a foreign policy that would take it from a speech to reality.
