AC Milan Coach Gives Samuel Chukwueze Hope For More Game Time

The manager of AC Milan, coach Stefano Pioli, has insisted that Nigerian winger, Samuel Chukwueze, would have more game time at the club.

Samuel Chukwueze was a regular at Villarreal before he decided to move to AC Milan this summer in a long-term deal.

Ahead of the move which cost AC Milan about 20 million plus €8 million in add-ons, Chukwueze was expected to mount the wings alongside Raphael Leao.

However, in AC Milan’s first league game of the season, the Nigeria international started from the bench while United States winger, Christian Pulisic started in his place.

To make things more difficult for Samuel Chukwueze, Pulisic had a very good game and even scored a goal in Milan’s 2-0 win over Bologna.

Hence, coach Stefano Pioli only gave Chukwueze just 16 minutes of game time which goes to show that the Nigeria international has so much work to do to break into the first eleven.

However, the coach told DAZN that he would give the Nigeria international more game as he continues to grow into the system.

“It is always exciting before the first game of the season, we’re curious to see what we can come up with”, the coach said.

“We are playing those who are most ready, who have been working together since July. Chukwueze, Okafor, and Musah only arrived two weeks ago, but I don’t think it will take them long to be at the same level as their teammates.”

Samuel Chukwueze would hope to have more than 16 minutes of game time when AC Milan take on Torino on Saturday, August 26.
