Breaking: President Tinubu Orders Implementation Of Tax Reform Committee Report

The inauguration ceremony for the 45 ministers-designate has begun at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The inauguration ceremony is being presided by President Bola Tinubu and attended by guests of the ministers-designate and other members f the public.

The President had asked the Senate to confirm 48 ministerial nominees, but only 45 were cleared, while three other nominations were stepped down for not having a security clearance.

The 45 successful ministers-designate completed their documentation at the weekend as part of the fulfilment to enable them to be sworn in as cabinet members.

Naija News reports that the new appointees will be guided by the eight-point agenda of the President as stated in his election manifestoes.

It was further learned that the President might set targets and performance indexes for the cabinet members in order to create an immediate impact on the economy, security, and other key areas.

Meanwhile, ahead of today’s inauguration, President Tinubu, on Sunday, approved the redeployment of Engr. Abubakar Momoh from the Federal Ministry of Youth to the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Development and directed all minor amendments to ministry nomenclature and portfolio allocation.

According to presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale in a statement, the Federal Ministry of Youth is to be reassigned to a Minister-Designate soon.

The statement also noted that Ministers-Designate allocated to the Federal Ministries of Transportation, Interior, and Marine & Blue Economy have been reshuffled as follows:

(A) H.E. Adegboyega Oyetola is redeployed as the Honourable Minister of Marine & Blue Economy

(B) Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo is redeployed as the Honourable Minister of Interior

(C) Hon. Sa’idu Alkali is redeployed as the Honourable Minister of Transportation

Furthermore, both Ministers of State in the Oil and gas sector are now domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources with the following designations:

(i) Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri is the Hon. Minister of State (Oil), Petroleum Resources

(ii) Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo is the Hon. Minister of State (Gas), Petroleum Resources

The President approved the renaming of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management as the Federal Ministry of Environment.

All aforementioned changes take immediate effect by these directives of the President.
