Daniel Bwala, aide of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the rise in the inflation rate from 22.79 percent in June to 24.08 percent in July.

Recall that the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said Nigeria’s headline inflation jumped to 24.08 per cent in July 2023, making it the highest recorded leap in  a while.

Naija News reports that in June, inflation was recorded at 22.79 per cent, but has now jumped by 1.29 percentage points.

In a statement on Tuesday, the bureau said the latest figure is the seventh consecutive rise in the country’s inflation rate this year.

Reacting to the news in a Twitter post on Monday, Bwala said the rise in the inflation rate has shown the “Renewed hope renewably.”

He wrote: “Nigeria’s inflation rate rose to 24.08 percent in July 2023, up from 22.79 percent in the previous month.

“The latest figure is the seventh consecutive rise in the country’s inflation rate this year.

“Renewed hope renewably.”
