Shehu Sani Reacts As Tinubu Govt Plans To Purchase N5 Billion Presidential Yacht

Former Senator representing Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has reacted to reports indicating that President Bola Tinubu has barred all ex-Niger Delta militant leaders from visiting him at the presidential villa, Abuja.

Naija News earlier reported that the presidency had disapproved requests for courtesy visits by notable militant leaders and ethnic militias from the oil-rich region to Tinubu in the villa.

According to Leadership, the decision was made after the visit by the leader of the defunct Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujarhedeen Asari-Dokubo, on June 16.

The president was allegedly disturbed by the public utterances and actions of Asari Dokubo after visiting him in the presidential villa.

Sources in the presidency told the aforementioned publication that Dokubo’s outbursts against the military within the vicinity of the villa gave the inkling that the president shared the same views with the notable ex-militant commander.

Reacting to the latest development, Shehu Sani, in a post via Twitter, asserted that the decision of the presidency is in the right direction.

According to him, the presidential villa is very important and sensitive for any active or ex-militant to use in spewing hateful comments.

He stressed that there is a need for discipline and decency whenever anyone is in the nation’s seat of power.

He tweeted, “The Seat of power is too important and sensitive for any active or ex militant to use for spewing hateful or inciting rhetoric. There’s need for discipline, decency and decorum when in nation’s temple of power”
