Tacha Loses N500,000 ‘Bet’ As Falcons Bow To England

Former BBNaija’s housemate, Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha has lost a N500,000 bet after the Super Falcons lost to England.

Naija News reports that Super Falcons lost 4-2 on penalty to England in their round of 16 clash at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia on Monday morning after regulation and extra time ended goalless.

Before the match began, Tacha announced that she would be placing a N500,000 bet on Super Falcons to beat England.

On her Twitter handle, she wrote “I’m about to bet 500k on ya heads Ohh‼ So abeeg‼ Bring it home #ENGNGA #FIFAWWC #ENG #NGA.”

After Nigeria’s defeat, she wrote “Jesus,” with sad emoji in another tweet.

First Lady Reacts To Super Falcons Loss

Meanwhile, the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has commended the Super Falcons’s effort following their defeat to England via penalty shoot-out in the Round of 16 on Monday.

Speaking with reporters after the match, the First Lady hailed the team for the impressive performance at the tournament, saying that she is very proud of them.

Tinubu, who was in the company of the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, and the wife of the Senate President Ekaette Akpabio, noted that the match was not easy for England noting that Nigeria played well. She said, “I want to say that they played very well and we are proud of them. We gave England a run for their money and so we will be waiting to receive them.

The match wasn’t easy for England. It was like a bonus to them and they really played fine soccer.”
