The PUNCH: Amid concerns around the high cost of governance, the 48 ministerial nominees whose names were forwarded to the Senate for clearance by President Bola Tinubu, and about 560 commissioners-designates in 27 states of the federation, where elections held in May this year may cost the country about N23.4bn in salaries, findings by Saturday PUNCH have shown.


The Guardian: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, yesterday, informed the Senate that following the coup in Niger that sacked the democratically elected administration of Mohamed Bazoum, Nigeria was considering a military intervention to restore order, among a host of other sanctions.


The Nation: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday informed the Senate of the decision of the Economic Committee of West African States (ECOWAS) of which he is chairman to intervene militarily in Niger Republic should the coupists in that country refuse to reinstate ousted President Mohamed Bazoum.
