Wike Gets Support Of Northeast Elders To Restore Abuja Master Plan

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has berated some politicians trying to soil the reputation of the former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike over his nomination as a minister-designate.

The party claimed that people led by the presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, have been holding meetings on how to deal with “a patriot and prominent nationalist whose interest it is to protect the unity and stability of our dear country.”

Speaking via a statement by former spokesman of Rivers PDP Campaign Organization, Ogbonna Nwuke, the party said the decision by President Bola Tinubu to nominate Wike “is being hailed by progressive-minded Nigerians as a masterstroke.”

The statement noted that those against the progress of the country are the ones angry over the former governor’s nomination.

According to the Rivers PDP: “No amount of blackmail, intimidation, acts of reactionary provocations and threats will therefore deter the former Governor of Rivers State, Barrister Nyesom Wike from responding to a call to service at a time of national emergency.”

Vowing to stand by Wike, the Rivers PDP warned: “We wish to remind the PDP of the danger in taking precipitate steps that may indeed mark the beginning of the end of a party that we have all labored to build.”
