Speaking on the nomination of Nkiru of Abia State, Orji noted that the federal government had approached him for the position, but he insisted that the president gave the position to whoever he wanted to give it to.

He added that the chosen candidate had his full support.

He said: “Well when I did not contest for senate presidency. The federal govt wanted me to be a minister. I respected my brother and friend, and the president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu to put anybody of his choice and i support it.”
