Minister Hadi Sirika Reacts As Nigeria Air Aeroplane Lands In Abuja

It’s been about 24 hours, and the Department of State Services (DSS) is yet to give any update on the alleged arrest of former aviation minister Hadi Sirika.

Naija News reported on Thursday that the secret police reportedly invited Sirika over the launch of the national carrier, Nigeria Air.

It was gathered that Sirika arrived at the DSS headquarters in Abuja for questioning regarding the controversy surrounding the launch of the carrier.

According to SaharaReporters, Sirika arrived at the headquarters of the country’s secret police around 3 pm on Thursday in a Range Rover Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).

Hadi Sirika was invited by the DSS for questioning. “He is being grilled; he arrived in a Range Rover SUV,” a security source told the news platform.

Recall that the Muhammadu Buhari administration in May unveiled a Boeing 737-800 aircraft belonging to Ethiopian Airlines as a Nigeria Air airplane.

Following the launch, the acting Managing Director of Nigeria Air, Captain Dapo Olumide, revealed that the plane was over ten years old and belonged to Ethiopian Airlines, among other allegations.

However, till now, the DSS has kept silent on the former minister’s alleged arrest.

The Guardian disclosed that several calls and messages have been sent to the DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya, to confirm and give an update on the issues, but no response has come forth.

Afunaya, according to the report, is yet to acknowledge the messages at the time of filling this report.
