Calvin Bassey Flies To USA For Medicals

Calvin Bassey has left the Netherlands and flew to the United States of America where he is expected to undergo his medical examination ahead of his move to Fulham.

According to transfers expert, Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League side, Fulham, have booked the medical examination to be conducted on Calvin Bassey later today, July 25, 2023.

Naija News has reported that Ajax and Fulham have agreed on a deal worth €21 million for the services of Calvin Bassey who joined the Dutch club from Glasgow Rangers last summer.

Reports claimed that the coach of Fulham Marco Silva was extremely interested in luring Bassey back to the Premier League, a league he wasn’t able to excel in while the Nigeria international was playing for Leicester City.

As it stands, coach Silva’s wish of landing the 23-year-old Nigerian center-back is almost set to come true. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claimed earlier today that the ongoing transfer process would be sealed on Saturday which means that the Nigeria international might be announced as Fulham’s new signing this weekend.

Before now, Calvin Bassey who has been subjected to a series of criticism especially from Dutch pundits, didn’t want to leave Ajax.

He intended to remain at the club to prove that he is worth the €23 million that Ajax paid for his services barely a season ago.

Amidst his intention to play for more seasons at Ajax since he still has until June 30, 2027, before his contract expires, two Premier League clubs, Brighton and Fulham, kept pushing for his signature. Fortunately, Fulham won the race as things stand.
