Senegal Has Shown Africa The Way - Ezekwesili Reacts As Opposition Candidate Leads Senegal Presidential Race

Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has once again lamented over the uproar created by the Department of State Service (DSS) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NcoS) over the custody of suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

Naija News recalls that earlier on Tuesday, a federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos, granted Emefiele N20 million bail and one surety in like sum.

Emefiele is facing charges bordering on “illegal possession of firearms.”

The presiding judge, Nicholas Oweibo ruled that the embattled apex bank chief be remanded at the correctional centre, pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions.

However, DSS operatives insisted on taking Emefiele into their custody.

This led to a heated brawl between personnel’s from both services on the court premises.

Speaking once again on the incident, Ezekwesili insisted that the DSS must apologize and comply with the rule of law.

She wrote, “Kai! What a shame, @OfficialDSSNG ! A predatory political class will always ruin everything they touch- whether citizens, public treasury, processes, institutions, media etc.

“Just see what has become of our country’s State Security establishment.

“The only effective Check on the ruinous ways of the politicians and the Public Agencies they have privatized unto themselves is Collective Citizens Action. All reasonable Citizens must keep them accountable.

“It will do you good, Mr DG of DSS to retrace your steps from this show of shame and diligently comply with the rule of law in the conduct your activities.

“Please.”
