Nigerian-born Swiss footballer Noah Okafor has completed his move to Italian Serie A giants AC Milan from Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.

Noah Okafor, who was born to a Nigerian father, Christian Okafor, and a Swiss mother, Nicole Okafor, signed a five-year deal with the Italian Serie A giants. This means that the Swiss international will stay at AC Milan until June 30, 2008.

Before making his career debut in 2018, Okafor advanced through Basel’s development programs. He scored seven goals in 54 games at the club.

Even though he had the chance to represent Nigeria in international football, Noah Okafor decided to go with his mother’s country at the international level.

He grabbed Milan’s attention after moving to Salzburg in January 2020 and helping the team win four Austrian Bundesliga titles and three Austrian Cups while scoring 34 goals in 110 appearances.

While announcing Noah Okafor’s departure from Salzburg via Twitter, the Austrian club tweeted: “Noah Okafor has joined @acmilan on a permanent transfer.

“We’d like to thank him for the massive contributions he made to our club and wish him nothing but the absolute best as he joins one of the biggest clubs in the world. See you soon, Noah.”

When Okafor made his international debut in June 2019 against England, his first goal for Switzerland ensured that his country qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

He competed in three of Switzerland’s four games as a substitute before the team ended their journey at the tournament embarrassingly. They lost 6-1 to Portugal in the round of 16.
