Three security guards have been killed in a gunmen attack on the residence of a former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, in the Ola community, Akwanga Local Government of Nasarawa State.

Naija News gathered that the gunmen invaded Maku’s residence on Saturday night and attempted to force their way into the residence, but were resisted by security guards stationed at the house.

The gunmen, who eventually killed the guards and gained access to the house, were said to have escaped before the arrival of security operatives at the scene.

Reacting to the incident, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, condemned the attack and said he has directed the police and other security agencies in the state to arrest the suspects.

In a statement by his spokesman, Peter Ahemba, Governor Sule said the culprits must be made to face the full wrath of the law.

The governor reassured residents of the state of his administration’s readiness to secure the lives and properties of the citizens, adding that the general well-being of the people remains a top priority of his administration.

He said: “The state government is already partnering with the top military command, the police and other para-military agencies to ensure that the bandits fleeing from other parts of the country as a result of military onslaughts against them do not have hiding places in Nasarawa state.

The governor, who extended his sympathy to Maku, promised to curb insecurity in all parts of the state.
