Why President Tinubu Met Benin, Niger, Guinea-Bissau Presidents In Aso Rock

The details of the meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and three other African presidents have emerged.

Naija News earlier reported that Tinubu received the President of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embalo; President of Republic of Benin, Patrice Talon, and President of the Republic of Niger, Bazoum Mohammed.

The Nigerian leader also met with the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr Omar Aheu Touray at the State Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

In a statement on Tuesday by the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, the meeting centred around the outcome of the last ECOWAS Summit which established an ECOWAS Presidential Taskforce (TROIKA+1) comprising of Benin, Guinea-Bissau and Nigeria, with the support of Niger on Post-MINUSMA Security Challenges considering its withdrawal by the United Nations.
