‘President Tinubu Ministerial Nominees List Ready’

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s ministerial nominees’ list has been prepared for a long time and will be submitted to the Senate for screening latest this week, says presidency sources.

According to the sources, barring any last-minute change, the Nigerian leader would make the list available to lawmakers for scrutiny before this weekend.

Naija News understands that by the provision of law, Tinubu is expected to forward the list of ministerial nominees to the National Assembly 60 days from the date he takes the oath of office.

Recall that the incumbent administration was inaugurated on May 29, when former President Muhammadu Buhari handed over the mantle of leadership to Tinubu.

Going by the constitutional provision of 60 days, Tinubu has less than ten days to constitute his cabinet.

Sources in Presidency who spoke to Vanguard during the week claimed that the list of ministerial nominees had been prepared long before now, but there have been some adjustments lately.

“The list of ministerial nominees has been ready since, but the President has made some changes in some states.

“The list is expected to be forwarded to the National Assembly between Wednesday and Thursday, except if there is any development that could delay it again further.

“The President is supposed to constitute his cabinet latest July 26. So, I am sure that the list will be sent to the senate this week,” said one of the Presidency sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Naija News understands that there have been a series of speculations and ministerial lists in circulation before now as Tinubu keeps Nigerians guessing on who would make the list and whether there will be a government of national unity as speculated in some quarters.

However, President Tinubu’s spokesman, Dele Alake, said recently that only his principal can decide when to submit the list of nominees to the National Assembly as well as those to make the list.

Alake assured that the list will be made public before the expiration of the 60 days.
