Peter Obi Reacts As Fire Guts Popular Aba Market

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, has expressed sadness over the reports of a fire incident at Powerline Market, Aba in Abia State, which destroyed goods worth millions of Naira.

In a statement on Wednesday via his verified Twitter handle, Obi said the fire incident is more painful considering the very challenging economic times that the nation is currently passing through.

He sympathised with the victims of the unfortunate fire incident and all the traders in that market who have suffered losses.

Obi also urged the relevant agencies to carry out a thorough investigation and ascertain the cause of the fire to help prevent future occurrences.

The former Governor of Anambra State also encouraged the state government and concerned persons and institutions to come to the aid of the victims and help them get back on their feet.
