Zamfara District Head Kidnapped In His Residence
The District Head of Kasuwar Daji in the Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Ibrahim Sarkin Fada, has been reportedly kidnapped.
Naija News reports that Sarkin Fada was kidnapped in his residence in the early hours of Thursday by suspected bandits.
According to The Punch, an indigene of the area, Malam Audu Mohammed, confirmed the incident.
He said the bandits who were in large numbers stormed Kasuwar Daji village and went straight to the village head’s house where they abducted him and took him to their camp.
Bello said the bandits fired many gunshots in order to frighten the residents of the village who wanted to rescue their village head.
He disclosed that , “I was in my house when I heard gunshots around 2:30 to 3:00 am last Thursday.”
“I was called later around 4 am by a friend who told me that our district head was abducted.”
The security agents were yet to comment on the issue as of the time of filing this report.
