Everton attacking midfielder, Alex Iwobi has expressed confidence that he and his Super Eagles of Nigeria teammates will beat Guinea Bissau on Friday.

Alex Iwobi, however, noted that he is not promising anything even though he admitted that the Super Eagles have all it takes to beat their visitors on March 24.

On the said day, Djurtus of Guinea Bissau will take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the MKO Abiola national stadium in Abuja at 5 PM.

The game is the first leg of a doubleheader which Nigeria must win to be in control of their chances of qualifying for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.

The second leg of the encounter will take place at Estádio 24 de Setembro in Bissau on Monday, March 27.

Before then, the attention of football enthusiasts is fixated on how Friday’s game would play out. And Alex Iwobi does not think winning the game would be a problem for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

He said, “We’re very confident that we have very good players. So, I won’t promise anything, but I know that we will give our hundred per cent to try and win this game, and we’ll do our best. We are preparing to make sure that we do everything we can. So, we are going into the game feeling confident. So, I trust my players, I trust my team, and trust Nigeria that we’ll be able to get that result.”
