Nigerian Man who returned N10.8Million mistakenly transferred to his account by a customer

One Mr Idoma caused a scene at the front of a branch of the Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) when he announced to the public a man who returned the sum of N10.8 Million he mistakenly transferred to his account.

According to Idoma, the young man, identified simply as Mr Timothy is his mechanic. He said Timothy approached him immediately after he received the unexpected alert and refunded the money.

Idoma, who claimed to be a contractor, said he wanted to send the money to his manager for a project and mistakenly sent it to the young man.

Naija News understands a crowd reacted differently to the development announced at the premises of the commercial bank. Idoma was challenged by the bank management for not informing them before creating a ‘scene’ at the front of their bank.

Although the bank commended his action, which informed the public about Timothy’s gesture, a rare event with Nigerians, especially in the face of the current economic imbalance.

In other news, the genital of a 72-year-old woman identified as Onyebuchi Ezeh was cut off, including other parts of her body by her domestic staff, in an attempt to use them for money rituals.

Naija News learnt that the incident happened in Umunze, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State on Thursday.

The victim was reportedly rescued by neighbours who later took her to the hospital after she raised the alarm, and the suspect confessed that he and some others at large, committed the act on the instruction of a native doctor, who had promised to make them rich if they brought the required organs.

Confirming the incident to journalists, the media assistant to the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Chidinma Ikeanyionwu, said the victim is currently recuperating at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka, where the commissioner, Ify Obinabo, had visited the victim.

She also said the commissioner expressed sadness over the development while assuring the victim that other persons involved in the crime would be apprehended and charged in court.

Chidinma added that the suspect is currently at the State Criminal Investigative Department of the Anambra State Police Command, Awka, and will soon be arraigned before the Children and Gender Based Violence Magistrate Court in Awka, soon.
