Hundreds of women from Port Harcourt on Wednesday, staged a road walk to the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, seeking for insurance of their votes to be counted following the outcome of Rivers Election in the just concluded presidential polls.

The road walk which started about 9am, was made up of both old and young women who held different placards with inscriptions such as: ‘We have lost confidence in INEC in Rivers State.’ Say No snatching and altering of BVAS’  ‘INEC no Mago Mago,’ ‘INEC say no to electoral malpratice.’ ‘Network no dey, then no collation of results until network come’ ‘INEC don’t alter our votes.’ ‘INEC Wayo’

The women alleged that some officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), manipulated the results of Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

They demanded that INEC ensures that the votes of the people count in the forthcoming governorship and house of assembly elections and not thwart their will and make their votes not to count as before.
