Scores of bandits were reportedly killed when they clashed with troops of Operation Hadarin Daji in Zamfara State during the week.

It was gathered that the gallant troops went hard on the bandits in the Magami district of Gusau Local Government Area of the state.

Naija News learnt that many of the assailants were forced to flee with various degrees of injuries.

A military source who confided in Daily Post said the troops were able to recover two motorcycles during the operation.

ISWAP Terrorists Killed Six In Niger State

Earlier on Tuesday, some terrorists suspected to be members of the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) attacked a community in Niger State and killed at least six people.

Naija News learnt that the terrorists invaded the suburbs of Rafi and Wushishi local government areas where they killed a pregnant woman and five other persons whose identities were not disclosed in the public domain.

The terrorists are said to have abducted no fewer than fifty people after they operated around the Anawanka, Sabon Gari and Kundu axis of the two local government areas on Tuesday night.

It was also learnt that a Nigeria Air Force (NAF) fighter jet engaged the bandits for several hours, but the detail of the operation or otherwise was not yet known.

The State Commissioner for Internal Security and Humanitarian Affairs, Emmanuel Umar, has confirmed the incident to newsmen but was yet to ascertain the details of the attack.
