JUST IN: Ex-Oyo Lawmaker, Tirimisiyu Okunola Is Dead

A former Oyo State lawmaker, Tirimisiyu Okunola, has been reported dead.

Naija News understands that the deceased represented the Ido State constituency in 2007 and 2011, under the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).

He later defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Okunola’s younger brother, Bashir Okunola, however, announced the demise of the former lawmaker on Sunday via his Facebook page.

He noted that the politician died as a result of diabetes.

“Haaaaa egbon why now you left us so soon. (sic) Hon. Tirimisiyu Olasupo Okunola,” the deceased’s sibling wrote.

Sani Abacha’s Son Abdullahi Is Dead

Meanwhile, one of the sons of former Nigeria military ruler General Sani Abacha, Abdullahi Abacha, died on Saturday, March 4 at the age of 36.

Naija News learnt that Abacha died at the family’s Nelson Mandela Street residence in Abuja.

His sister and wife of Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Fatimah Gumsu Abacha-Buni, confirmed the sad development on Saturday via her Instagram page.

She wrote, “Innalillahi wa inna ilahi rajiun (Surely, we belong to Allah and verily to Him do we return). I lost my younger brother Abdullahi Sani Abacha. He died in his sleep. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him jannatul firdaos (paradise), Ameen. Please include him in your prayers”.

“He was hale and hearty last night, but was found dead this morning. He died peacefully in his sleep,” another source told reporters.
