Wike Arrives Ibadan, Joins Makinde To Commission Aviation Fuel Depot

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, on Friday, arrived in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital to commission the 5,000,000-litre Aviation Duel Tank Depot.

Naija News reports that the depot built by the Seyi Makinde administration is located at the Ibadan Airport in the Alakia area of the state.

The depot is expected to make Jet-A1 readily available for local airlines operating at the airport in South-West Nigeria and connecting other domestic routes in the country.

Governor Wike, who was received at the airport by Makinde, is also expected to commission the Dr. Omololu Olunloyo Airport road and the Dr. Omololu Olunloyo Park in Ibadan.

According to the state government, the projects are part of its quest to boost its economy and create access roads in the Pacesetter state.

Naija News reports the commissioning of projects is coming about a week before the scheduled March 11 governorship election in Oyo State in which Makinde is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Both Makinde and Wike are part of the G5 Governors that refused to work for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the just concluded presidential election which was eventually won by Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
