An ally of the former minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Tonye Cole on Friday deleted his congratulatory message to the president-elect, Bola Tinubu.

Cole in a post on his Facebook account congratulated Tinubu on his victory in the presidential election held on the 25th of February, 2023.

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, however, deleted the message from his social media space in less than an hour.

Cole is a follower of former Minister, Amaechi who is reportedly in a rift with the APC presidential candidate.

Amaechi who lost the presidential ticket of the ruling to Tinubu in 2022 failed to attend the presidential campaigns of the former governor of Lagos State across the country.

The former governor of Rivers State has been silent about the runnings of the party since his defeat during the presidential primary of his party.

There had been claims that Amaechi is not on good terms with Tinubu due to his alleged relationship with the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

Reports have it that the relationship between Wike and Tinubu has undermined the strength of the APC in Rivers State and could lead to the defeat of Cole who is an ally of Amaechi.
