#NigeriaDecides: Late Alaafin’s Son, Akeem Adeyemi Declared Winner Of Oyo Federal Constituency Seat

One of the sons of the immediate past Alaafin of Oyo, Akeem Adeyemi, has been declared the winner for the Atiba/ AFIJIO/ Oyo East/ Oyo West federal constituency seat.

Naija News learnt that Adeyemi, who is an incumbent rep member for the constituency, is winning the seat for the third time.

The result was declared at the collation centre for the federal constituency situated within the premises of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Oyo East local government area in the Akunlemu area of Oyo.

The Alafin’s who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defeated candidates from other parties with a total vote of 34,822.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the seat, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had 31,671, while the Accord Party’s candidate, Oyedemi Oyeleru scored a total of 13,544, and Oyekalu Rashid Oyegbami of NNPP got 588 votes.

Others include the Peoples Redemption Party’s (PRP) candidate Yesufu Liadi Ademola, who scored 77 votes, and the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Ogunniyi Akinyemi Olaoluwa, who also had a total of 1,951 votes.

Naija News recalls that Akeem Adeyemi, in 2015 and 2019 won the federal constituency seat.
