Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag can not but boast about his team after leading them to beat current Spanish La Liga table toppers, FC Barcelona at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Erik ten Hag took over a struggling Manchester United side last summer and is gradually returning them to their glory days. Ten Hag has taken the team that failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League last season, to the third spot on the league table with 49 points in 24 games, just five points below first-placed Arsenal.

To crown it all, United which last won a major title in 2017, is on the verge of winning four major titles this season including the Premier League. They will face Newcastle United in a league cup final on Sunday and they are favorites to win it.

With the stunning change of fortunes for the Red Devils, it is not out of place that Erik ten Hag believes that his current team can beat any team.

United have proven to be unstoppable on a good day. They have beaten current Premier League leaders, Arsenal, and just on Thursday night, they defeated Spanish La Liga table-toppers to clinch a spot in the Europa League round of 16.

After the 2-1 win over FC Barcelona at Old Trafford last night, a night Ten Hag described as a “Magnificent night”, the former Ajax coach said the victory over the Spanish side has given his team the belief that they can beat anyone.

“That is another step because when you can beat Barcelona, your belief can be really strong because you are then able to beat anyone”, the Dutch tactician said.

Erik ten Hag added, “I think we have some great personalities in this team.

“Everyone has such a strong belief in this team, you can see it. With the subs they bring energy and quality, they bring a different dynamic in games.”

With the win over FC Barcelona on Thursday, the expectation of Manchester United fans has risen to a boiling point and they might find it difficult to stomach any below-par performance going forward.

Hence, they will be anxiously looking forward to seeing United build on their recent form by lifting the league cup against Newcastle United on Sunday. The game will kick off at 17:30 (5:30 PM).
