Buhari Sends Message To Lawan Over Mother’s Death

President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the gruesome killing of the Labour Party (LP) senatorial candidate for Enugu East, Oyibo Chukwu.

The president in his reaction on Friday through a statement by his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina called on security agencies to fish out his killers.

Naija News recalls Chukwu was gruesomely murdered on Wednesday night while on his way from a campaign rally with some of his supporters. He and some of his supporters were shot to death during the attack and were burnt inside his vehicle.

The incident happened at Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area.

While condemning the act which he described as a heinous crime, President Buhari on Friday said the killers must be fished out and made to face the full wrath f the law.

He said the perpetrators of the “ignoble act” had no respect for human life and dignity.

Buhari also reminded all political actors the choice of the electorate would count and urged all eligible Nigerians to “boldly” exercise their civic rights without any fear of intimidation.

The President, in his statement also condoled with families of the victims, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the Labour Party. He prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and comfort for those who mourned.
