Peter Obi, Sowore Meets In Lagos Days To Presidential Election
Peter Obi and Omoyele Sowore

The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his counterpart from the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, met in Lagos on Friday morning.

Sowore confirmed this via his verified Twitter account, stating that they were on the same flight and rode on the same airport shuttle this morning.

According to the activist, the former Governor of Anambra State asked him to wade into the attacks on members of the Labour Party in Lagos, which he responded that he was the first to react to the events.

“Arrived in Lagos this morning. I flew on the same @flyairpeace flight and rode on an airport shuttle with
@Peterobi of @NgLabour surprisingly he asked that I intervene concerning attacks on Lagos @NgLabour
members, I told him I was the first to do so, apparently, he wasn’t aware,” Sowore wrote on the microblogging platform.

Their coincidental meeting is coming eight days before the 2023 presidential election scheduled for Saturday, 25th February 2023.

Chimamanda Adichie List Various Reason For Endorsing Peter Obi For President

Meanwhile, renowned Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, has publicly endorsed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for prthe esidency.

Adichie pledged her support to the former Anambra Governor’s bid to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, 2023 v, via her verified Facebook page on Thursday, 16th February 2023, Naija News reports.

She released a four minutes and fifty-five seconds video explaining why she’s backing Obi’s candidature.

She said: “The basis of my support for Peter Obi is because I think that he would make a very good president. I am an Igbo woman and I am very proud of him in a way that one is proud of a person who has achieved something and who also happens to be from one’s place.

“But there are also many other Igbo men who I admire or respect or I am proud of but I will never vote for them for president because I don’t think they would make good presidents

“And so, the basis of my support for Peter Obi is because I think he would make a very good president. I think it’s unfortunate that we often turn our opponents into caricatures and I don’t think that’s necessary.”

She added: “What is important to think about is not how can we demonise any opponent but rather who is the best and Peter Obi is by far the best.

“And one thing that is so significant is how he has changed, completely changed the political landscape in Nigeria, we have never had this organic grassroots enthusiasm from people all over the country.

“And most of all we’ve never had this sense of hope, I’ve always believed that there is nothing more essential to the human spirit than hope.”
