2023: Wike Speaks On G-5 Govs Dumping PDP
The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike on Friday spoke on dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) amidst the crisis in the party.
Governor Wike speaking on the crisis in the party said he and other members of the G-5 will remain in the party and fight.
According to Wike, they can not dump the main opposition party for armed robbers, adding that this is the house they built.
The Rivers State Governor in an interview with BBC pidgin called for the resignation of the national chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu.
He asked Ayu to resign and allow a Southerner to take over from him.
The PDP chieftain called for justice and equity in the party, adding that is their main goal.
Speaking during the interview he said, “we don’t like them, we can not leave our house for armed robbers. This is the house we built, we can not leave it for who? Peace must come. We will stay inside this house and fight.
“Equity, fairness and justice, are what our party is talking about and that is what we are telling Nigerians.
“Let the National Chairman of the party resign and allow the South to take over, we have not told him we want any other thing.”
