Breach Of Trust: Court Sentences Adamawa Chief To Eight Years Imprisonment

An Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure has sacked Hon. Aderoboye Samuel as the State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker.

The court, on Wednesday (today), ordered the immediate reinstatement of Hon. Iroju Ogundeji. Naija News understands that Ogundeji was occupying the seat before he was impeached and replaced with Aderoboye.

The lawmaker was impeached in December 2022 over alleged gross misconduct.

Presiding at the court sitting today, Justice Adetan Osadebey, stressed that the alleged impeachment of Ogundeji was carried out before the Assembly established the panel to probe him.

The court subsequently declared Aderoboye’s appointment unlawful and issued an order requiring Ogundeji’s immediate reinstatement and payment of all accrued benefits.

For the legislator’s humiliation during his purported impeachment and suspension from the Assembly, Justice Osadebey awarded him N10 million in damages.

Naija News understands that Aderoboye is representing Odigbo Constituency II.
