Following a Cardiac Arrest during an NFL game a week ago, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin has changed hospitals.

Damar Hamlin has left the hospital in Cincinnati where he has been battling to recover from a cardiac arrest, to a hospital in his base, Buffalo, where he will continue with his rehabilitation.

A statement from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC) said the 24-year-old NFL star is recovering speedily and was discharged on Monday, January 9, 2023.

Recall that Damar Hamlin passed out and required more than 30 minutes of on-field medical attention after making a tackle on wide receiver Tee Higgins during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was taken to a nearby intensive care unit afterward.

He remained on a ventilator for two days, but on Friday, according to the medical staff, he was up and moving around.

After being airlifted from Ohio to Buffalo to continue his treatment at the city’s General Hospital, the Bills player expressed his gratitude to the Cincinnati medical team in a social media post on Monday.

He wrote on Twitter: “Grateful for the awesome care I received at UCMC. Happy to be back in Buffalo. The docs and nurses at Buffalo General have already made me feel at home!”

The American football world came together in support of Hamlin, raising millions of dollars for charity in his honor before paying respect to him at NFL games when play resumed at the weekend.

Buffalo Bills’ return to action on Sunday, when they defeated the New England Patriots at home to clinch the second seed in the AFC for the playoffs, was the most heartfelt display of support for Hamlin.

Damar Hamlin wrote on Twitter: “Headed home to Buffalo today with a lot of love on my heart. Watching the world come together around me on Sunday was truly an amazing feeling. The same love you all have shown me is the same love that I plan to put back into the world n more. Bigger than football!”
