Flashback: Buhari Speaks On Three Effects Of Obasanjo’s Endorsement To A Presidential Candidate
President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed the importance of the endorsement of the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, to a presidential candidate.
Naija News reports that Buhari made this known in a throwback video shared by Nollywood actor and Labour Party (LP) chieftain, Kenneth Okonkwo.
Buhari during an interview with CNN spoke about how he felt after Obasanjo declared support for him in 2014 ahead of the presidential election in 2015.
According to Buhari, Obasanjo’s endorsement brings votes, support, and confidence to presidential candidates.
He noted that the endorsement also sway undecided voters sitting on the fence because Obasanjo is highly respected and must be consulted before any serious decision is taken in Nigeria.
He Is Jealous And Frustrated
Meanwhile, the presidency on Monday attacked former President Olusegun Obasanjo, describing him as a frustrated and jealous individual.
The position of the presidency was contained in a statement by the senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Garba Shehu.
The statement alleged that Obasanjo has the habit of attacking past leaders because he believes no one is better than him.
The statement however boasted that President Buhari is far ahead of Obasanjo in terms of achievements in office as well as international acceptance.
The response from the presidency comes a few hours after Obasanjo said Nigeria has become a living hell under the leadership of President Buhari
