'I’ve Not Seen That Person That Will Suspend Me In PDP' - Wike Declares

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has lampooned his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi for allegedly failing to do anything productive during his eight years tenure.

The Governor, while speaking during the flag off of the construction of Mgbuodohia road, in Obio/Akpo local government area of the State opined that the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is dead.

He warned the citizenry against voting for candidates Amaechi was presenting to them under the umbrella of the APC.

He said, “When Amaechi brings in his business partner and tells you to vote for him, ask him why you should vote for him, some of you who are still thinking if you will support PDP what are you thinking about? APC is a carcass. Rivers people who are still in APC, what are you doing there? You have been there for eight years without doing a single thing for your people. Amaechi said that he is a proper Ikwerre man, the fact that you are born in Ikwerre land doesn’t make you a proper Ikwerre man.

“I am happy that one of our leaders from Ikwerre, Oraegbule is one of the strong supporters of Rotimi Amaechi, he is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). His father was one of the greatest supporters of Amaechi, He did everything any Ikwerre man could do to give him support. Rumuorumenyi road was awarded and Amaechi didn’t do that road and left office. Was that road not completed?”

Speaking on the project, Wike explained that the road when completed would improve productive work in the area, increase rent and economic activities will thrive, urging the people to vote for his successor.

He asked the indigenes to compare Reumuorumenyi to what it is now as against the time Amaechi was in power.

Politics is about what you get for your people. The PDP has brought development to Rumuorumenyi. You can tell them that the Governor promised to develop our area and he has delivered, he completed Rumuorumenyi road, naval base road, Mghoshimiri road, and if you give us support we will build the bridge across Agip,” he added.
