Buhari Meets New NDDC Chairperson, Lauretta Onochie In Abuja [Photos]

President Muhammadu Buhari has met with the new chairperson of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Lauretta Onochie.

Naija News reports that the Nigerian leader met with the NDDC chairperson on Wednesday inside his office at the Presidential Villa In Abuja.

However, the details of the meeting between the President and Lauretta Onochie have not been released as of the time of filing this report.

Recall that Onochie was confirmed as the NDDC chairperson by the Senate on December 20.

This comes months after she was rejected as a Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) representing Delta State.

Her nomination as INEC Commissioner generated a public outcry from individuals, groups, and opposition parties who wrote petitions, staged protests, and called on the Senate to reject it.

She was subsequently replaced by May Agbamuche Mbu as INEC Commissioner
