You Will Fail Without Us - Wike Threatens PDP's Atiku Days To Presidential Election

Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has said Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has made the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, more popular in the North.

Naija News recalls the Governors; Nyesom Wike (Rivers State), Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Samuel Ortom (Benue State), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia State) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu State) took a stand against supporting the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

They insisted on the resignation of the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu from office and his replacement with a southerner as the only condition to support Atiku’s 2023 bid.

However, despite several meetings and entreaties on how to resolve the disagreement, Ayu has refused to step down and the Governors have also not changed their position.

At different times, Wike has berated the former Vice President for failing to keep the promise made to him after the PDP presidential election, and also called Ayu for alleged corruption.

However, in a tweet via his Twitter page on Tuesday, Omokri said Atiku’s silence to Wike’s provocations has galvanised the North behind the PDP flagbearer.

The controversial author added that no matter the insult Wike threw at him, Atiku held his peace and never responded, hence the soaring popularity in the North.

He wrote: “One other thing that galvanised the North behind Waziri Atiku Abubakar is the way he responded to Wike’s provocations. No matter the insult Wike threw at him, Atiku held his peace and NEVER responded. If you know how popular it has made Waziri, you will thank Wike! ”

Similary, Omokri has mocked the LP flagbearer over the 2023 presidential election projections made by ThisDay newspaper.

Naija News learned that projections published on Tuesday showed Atiku coming clear with massive votes in 21 states with the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer, Bola Tinubu, also hopeful of garnering massive votes from 20 states.

Obi, however, came third in the stats while the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, came fourth behind the former governor of Anambra State.

Reacting to the development, Omokri appealed to former PDP supporters now campaigning for Obi to return to the party and support Atiku.

He wrote: “I appeal to politicians still supporting Peter Obi. Look at the empty stadium in Kogi. Look at the ThisDay polls. Don’t be the fly that follows Obi into the political grave. Come and join or rejoin the PDP. We are obviously going to win and, we have space for you.”
