Presidential Tribunal Verdict Is Against Reason, Evidence Presented - PDP

Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee have called for the removal of the party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature from the presidential campaign council of the party.

Bature is the Director of Field Operations for the PDP Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

According to a source that spoke with Daily Independent, the NWC members are calling for Bature’s removal over his failure to carry his colleagues and other stakeholders along in his operations.

The aggrieved NWC members claimed that Bature’s action has caused embarrassing lapses in the planning of some of the presidential campaign rallies in many states.

Two NWC members claimed that Bature has remained disrespectful and bullish to party executives who have offered to work with him in their states.

One of the party’s chieftain said Bature’s actions is the direct opposite of his immediate predecessor, who despite coming from a military background, was more civil and respected all party organs.

The source alleged that the decision of Bature is responsible for many of the challenges the party is working to resolve in some state chapters like Ogun.

A top NWC member from the North who spoke on condition of anonymity said a formal complaint has already been lodged with the party’s presidential candidate to avoid further issues.
