Popular Broadcaster Cries Out Over Nude Video Blackmail

The Chairman of Yemi Sonde Media Group, Yemi Sonde on Tuesday brought to the attention of Nigerians a plan to blackmail him over a nude video of him.

The owner of YES FM in the statement released in Ibadan, Oyo State stated that a blackmailer claim to have his nude videos.

According to Sonde, when he urged the blackmailer to forward a copy of the video, he noted that it was a video of him alone in his bedroom.

He further stated that the person behind the blackmail claimed to live in Cote d’Ivoire.

Sonde noted that the blackmailer has repeatedly demanded sums of money which ranged from N500,000 to ₦1,500,000.

The broadcaster disclosed that the blackmailer threatened to release the video on social media if he does not adhere to his demand.

He added that the blackmailer has also reached out to some of his friends, asking them to advise him to pay the money requested to keep the video away from the internet.

The broadcaster said the blackmailer threatened to embarrass him and his family, and destroy his businesses.

Sonde said he has informed the blackmailer to release the video, adding that he would not pay him.

He said, “I am issuing this release to let Nigerians know that some powerful individuals who are bent on destroying me have orchestrated this blackmail. I don’t know what I did to necessitate this but I know that they will fail.”

Sonde stressed that he had indicted the blackmail attempt with the right legal actions adding, “I suspect some high net-worth individuals in society who got the blackmailer to go after me, having hitherto sworn to take me down.”
