The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has blamed the British government for being responsible for the political unrest trailing the country.

Naij News reports that the separatist group accused the British government of indirectly fuelling all the political unrest in the country,

IPOB in a statement signed by its media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful alleged that the British government contributed 99.9% of the political problems facing the country.

According to the group, the 1964 population census, was falsified to give the North edge over the South.

The group therefore, warned the British High Commissioner Catriona Laing to distance herself from Nigerian politics and political processes.

The separatist group also cleared the air that its decision to stay at home yesterday wasn’t in obedience to the sit-at-home call of the factional leader of IPOB, Simon Ekpa.

Ekpa, a Finland- based had ordered southeast people to observe sit-at-home for five days as part of their efforts to push for the release of the detained leader of the group, Nnamdi Kanu, who is in the Department of State Services (DSS) custody.
