13 Year Old Boy Fathers Baby With Nine Year Old Cousin – DNA Reveals

A 13-year-old boy in Zimbabwe has reportedly fathered a baby girl with his nine-year-old cousin.

Naija News gathered that a DNA tests conducted by the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Zimbabwe confirmed the incident.

Reports from South African news site IOL disclosed that the DNA results have exonerated the father of the girl, who had been earlier accused of impregnating his daughter.

The report revealed that the girl, who is from Tsholotsho District in Zimbabwe’s Matabeleland North province, has since given birth to a baby girl at the United Bulawayo Hospital through a Caesarean section (CS).

Also confirming the shocking revelation was the Spokesperson for the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, who noted that both the boy and his cousin who have now become the country’s youngest parents will be receiving counselling.

Nyathi submitted that “The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms that the Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) results obtained from the National University of Science and Technology on 25 November in connection with the paternity of the nine-year-old girl’s child have established that the victim’s cousin is the father of the child.

“The nine-year-old complainant and the suspect will now receive the appropriate counselling from the police’s Victim Friendly Unit (VFU).

“The police is now working with other relevant arms of the government to ensure that the due processes of the law are followed.”

Naija News also learnt that the Herald newspaper in Zimbabwe reported that the country’s First Lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa had visited the heavily pregnant girl at a safe house in Bulawayo before her delivery.

The Zimbabwe First Last was reported to have brought the young girl some items which included groceries, toiletries, toys, blankets and clothes.

Similarly, it was learnt that the Zimbabwe Mail reported that another nine-year-old girl in Bindura in the Mashonaland Central province was also impregnated by a 17-year-old boy, who is currently in police custody.

The report further states that the pregnant nine-year-old, who is a grade three pupil, was admitted at the Bindura Hospital.

Media reports indicate that Zimbabwe in recent times has recorded shocking cases of child abuse and rape.
