'Yes' - FG Confirms Sack Of NYSC DG, Mohammed Fadah

The reason President Muhammadu Buhari sacked the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier-General Mohammed Fadah, has been revealed.

Naija News earlier reported that President Buhari approved Fadah’s sack and also ordered an immediate replacement of the Director-General of the youth scheme.

Speaking with TheCable on Thursday, sources said the President sacked Fadah over alleged incompetence and lack of capacity to hold the position.

The sources said President Buhari took the decision on Thursday after presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to one of the sources, the President has directed Fadah to hand over to the most senior official within the NYSC.

The source said the senior official who takes over from Fadah is expected to act as DG of the scheme pending the announcement of a new appointment.

Fadah’s removal comes six months after his appointment as the NYSC DG in May 2022 and became the 19th person to hold the position of the head of the youth scheme.
