'Dead Party' - Tinubu Mocks Atiku, PDP At APC Campaign Flag-off

A large crowd of supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owerri, the Imo State capital, on Thursday caused heavy traffic gridlock at the Protea road.

Naija News understands that several APC loyalists and members have trooped out in their numbers to welcome the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, who is set to hold a town hall meeting in Owerri with some private sector drivers, comprising investors, manufacturers, traders among others.

Some party leaders and members were seen gathered along the Protea Road and in front of Landmark Events Centre where the town hall meeting is scheduled to take hold as early as 8.00 a.m singing and dancing.

Tinubu’s visit to the state is part of the preparation for his main campaign in the state, which is set to hold in a couple of days.

Even though reports from Owerri indicate that the APC flagbearer is yet to arrive in the state, members have flooded the town hall meeting.

The crowd defied the explanation by APC leadership of the state that they would see Tinubu next week when he returns for the campaign proper, but party leaders and the State Government were reported to have made emergency arrangements to keep the crowd under canopies.

The Imo APC publicity secretary, Cajethan Duke, said the large crowd is a demonstration of enthusiasm and solidarity by party members.

He noted that “Asiwaju’s visit is not for the rally as you know. It is meant for captains of industries, manufacturers and traders in Southeast and party candidates for various positions for the event.

“The party members you are seeing here are only showing solidarity in the project and I can assure you that they don’t mind the scorching sun as long as it has to do with Tinubu and APC.”
