Just In: List Of PDP Governors In Attendance As Meeting With Wike Begins

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike on Wednesday declared that there’s no need for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to campaign in Rivers State.

He argued that even President Muhammadu Buhari has recognized his good work in the state and given him an award for infrastructural development which he would use to campaign.

Wike also stated that retaliating for a bad action is part of politics and should be done without hesitation.

According to the Governor, the admonition not to retaliate when someone does a bad thing to you is a religious statement and does not apply in politics.

Wike observed that if you don’t retaliate, you don’t know whether you will survive the next one, hence the need to take immediate action.

The Governor said this on Wednesday in Rivers when he played host to the former National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole who was in the state to commission a flyover project.

He said: “The Bible says when someone does you bad you shouldn’t retaliate. But in politics, when someone does you badly you retaliate because if you don’t retaliate, you don’t know whether you will survive the next one. Politics is not a religion at all. If not that we were firm, your party needed this state badly.

Rivers State Is A No-go Area

Wike said APC should just surrender in Rivers State as there is nothing they will use to campaign against him to get the votes of the people.

“Your President has given us an award as the best in infrastructure. So I don’t know again what you will use to campaign in the state again because I am carrying the certificate everywhere I am going to. So, you people should surrender. There is no need for campaigning in this State.”
