Second Abuja Airport Runway Ready Next Year – Minister

The second Abuja International Airport Runway project worth N92 billion would be ready before ending of next year, says Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Sen. Hadi Sirika.

During a meeting with National Assembly joint committees in Abuja on Thursday, the Minister disclosed that the runway would be ready for use before the exit of the incumbent regime.

Speaking during an oversight visit to the airport by the joint committees of the Senate and House of Representatives led by Senator Abiodun Olujimi and Honourable Nnolim Nnaji, Sirika assured that the construction company in charge of the project had gone far to ensure it met up with the stipulated time.

The Minister, who conducted members of the committees of the two chambers of the National Assembly around the ongoing projects at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, disclosed that the contractor for the second runway, Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Company, had been fully mobilised.
